Andreas Tinhofer has been advising employers and managers for 20 years in all employment law matters including employee data protection and company pensions. His expertise encompasses issues such as working time, employee representative matters (including works agreements), restructuring and social plan negotiations, termination of employment, independent contractors, company pensions, post-employment restrictions and posting of workers.

He regularly represents his clients before the Austrian courts and other public authorities (e.g. Ombuds for Equal Treatment, conciliation boards). His working languages are German and English.

Andreas has published numerous articles on various employment law issues (e.g. business transfer, dismissals, service agreements of board members and posting of workers). Since 2009 he is National Correspondent of the international legal journal “Employment Law Cases” (EELC). Between 1996 and 2019 Andreas has been a lecturer for employment law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). In addition he is a frequent speaker at seminars for executives and HR Managers on employment law matters.

Andreas Tinhofer is a graduate of the University of Vienna (Dr. iur 2000) and the University of Exeter (LL.M. 1995). He has also studied at the Université Paris II (1992). After his graduation he has researched and lectured as an Assistant Professor at the Department for Employment and Social Law of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien). From 2010 to 2020 Andreas Tinhofer has been the founding partner of a renowned employment law boutique in Vienna.

Andreas Tinhofer is a member of the Vienna Bar Association, the Austrian Society of Employment Law and Social Law, the International Society of Employment Law and Social Law and the European Employment Lawyers’ Association (EELA).
